Head rest removal

In a 2001 F150 Supercab with front 40/60 bench seat, do the headrests come off just by pushing the button and lifting ? I tried breifly and could not get them off. I'm trying to install headrest brackets for LCD monitors.

The method you tried is the correct way. Sometimes, a little side to side jiggling helps get them out.

I thought I read somewhere on here, that you need to put a paper clip in a small hole on the side of the plastic trim piece? Cause some people put them back on backwards, and need to get them out again.

Hmmm. I didn't need to, but I guess some years may be different. BTW, mine is a 2003.

No Luck

When I pull them all the way up they "bottom out" so to speak. You can feel there must be a stop on them. Any other thoughts ?

Got It

The post with no "PUSH BUTTON" has a hidden button on the outside. Push it in and they come out. WOW, I wish I could have that hour of my life back. Thanks for the help.
