Help! My seat belt is posessed!

There has to be something wrong with my seatbelt. This has happened 3 times already. For no apparent reason, it just unhooks itself. Usually while I'm going slow and turning. No, I'm not accidently hitting the release button.
WTF is up with this????
It never happened on my other 2002.
Geez.......what now..........
Is there an issue with seatbelts that I am not aware of?
Is this a defect that the dealer would know about and repair for no cost?
..........

I've had that happen on a few vel's I've had. What I did was take a rag and some WD-40 spray to it,it may some dirt or dust in the buckle not letting the latch inside work.If that don't work you may have to replace the seatbelt.Remember anything that moves needs some type of lub on it at some time to keep the parts working.Hope this works for you.

Lightbulb Call the Dealer

Reloader,

Call your dealer if the WD-40 doesn't work.

Seat belt warranties are different (and much longer) than Ford's 3/36 factory warranty.

Good luck!

Time to get to dealer reloader. I believe there was a recall a coupla years ago for that very thing, buckles coming unhooked.

My buddy had to replace the buckle in his '97 Explorer, same issue.

He bought a new buckle from the dealer, I think it was about $60, because of the sensors in it. PITA to replace.
