'98 Power Window "tight"

hey folks i have a 1998 f-150 and ever since i have owned the truck the passenger side power window has been "tight" it will only come down freely a couple of inches then really gets tight and if you hold the button down it will eventually crawl its way down until it hits a smooth place when it is almost all of the way down. Same thing goin back up. Ford "fixed" it one time when it was under warranty but then low and behold it stopped working correctly once it was out of warranty. Has anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this?

When Ford fixed it the first time when i got my truck back it had a very strong smell much like PB Nut Blaster/Buster. I dont know if they just lubed something up good inside the door or what.

On my truck, I have the same problem but with both windows.

On mine its simply the rubber piece that is touching the glass whilie it is sliding up and down creating friction and resitance.

I'm thinking of trimming that rubber piece down a little bit so it won't rub.

Is that what ur problem is?

your problem sounds very similiar to mine. I thought about cutting that piece down a bit, but didnt like the idea of extra water getting down in there. i may try to wax the window, someone suggested that.

Waxing seems to be a good idea.

Today when my truck was off, the window litterally stopped halfway and barely made it after that
