i know it's a little late
You shouldn't have to remove the seat but if you do make sure to lay your seat forward and angle it out. I mention this do to rear plastic trim I just shelled over a 150 bucks for to replace the damage the brackets did during removal.
ended up putting it back in and just dealing with the stain with a rented steam cleaner (grocery stores are good for something, wal-mart for everything else) and some Febreeze (dab it straight on with a rag and be prepared to leave your windows down for at least ten hours.
