squeeky dash
hey does anyone have any problems with the left side of their dash squeeking terribly? I have an2004 f-150 screw, 6000 kms on it.Also I have had it stall a couple of times when I pull up to a red light, gotta throw it in neutral and it starts a right away?
Engine Stalling
I had a problem with the engine stalling on a T-Bird some time back. They called it motorboating (go figure) Anyway the problem was with the transmission and was associated with the OD. It seems that the transmission was not switching out of OD when the vehicle slowed and caused the engine to drag and die.

I fixed my squeak! I had this same squeak. It would come and go. It was dependent on the current weather. Well one day, I decided I had had enough. I got a stethoscope (what a doctor listens to your hear with) out and pinpointed the squeak. Mine was on the right side, but this could work on the left side too.
Turns out to be the beige cover over the defrost vents. There's one on the left and right of the dash. Pry it up (6 snaps, 3 right at windshield and 3 further back) the snaps starting at the ones furthest from the windshield. Then remove the piece and look at the bottom if it. You'll see some little circles built in to the plastic that are raised up from the surface. The plastic circles are rubbing the dash plastic and creating a squeak. Get some felt and cover these circles with felt. If this doesn't solve the squeaking completely, put felt on all 6 holes where the snaps "snap" back in to place. This will remedy the problem.
You can fix this squeak in less than 3 minutes!
Hope this helps! The squeaking was driving me insane!!
Let me know if this works for you!
