Hey guys,

If you look at www.truckvault.com you see that they offer a safe that fits under the rear seat of trucks like our Scab F150s. They only offer them on 1999 models on up, though, and I have a 1998. Does anyone know what the difference is with the 1998 (and 97) models that makes this a non-option?

Failing that, does anyone know of a product that is offered by another company that does the same thing, available in a 98?

I think the difference is the space under the seat. one folds up the other folds down (affecting the hardware)

 

I spoke with them on the phone, and they said that the Vault should also fit the '98.

So...looks like we're in business.

I agree that the major difference seems to be that one flips up, the other down. However, the way the 98's flip down and forward, it should not affect the space available under the seat. I suspect that the main hurdle would be that the seat brackets are slightly different shaped...but they seemed to think that this is not a problem.
