door panel

My dog ate my arm rest on the driver's side door panel. The
panel looks like it comes in 3 peices. The local ford dealer said I had to order a complete door panel. Is this right? The complete
panel sells for over $400.00. I was thinking of a salvage yard.
Any sugestions?

Arm rest of gold?

Definitely check out salvage yards! My experience with salvage yards tho is you have to be willing to really search them all hard, and call them all, and be willing to drive a long way to find just the part you want. Also depending on the year of your vehicle, JC Whitney sells complete door panels with arm rest and all for alot less, usually 70s - 80s models. Dealers wont usually sell individual parts for whatever reason, probably to force people to spend the dough for a complete assembly.

A good idea for a dog that becomes bored or frustrated when left alone inside a vehicle for a short time is to keep one special chew toy in the vehicle that he only gets when you must leave him alone for a short while. That should keep him busy till you get back.

Thanks Mike,my truck is a '98 f150. The dog, Elvis, was upset,
(going nuts actualy) because there was a stray dog in the parking
lot barking at him. Elvis is kind of nuts, he thinks that he should
be the only male dog in the world!
