Lower trim panel for an Expy console

I just finished an Expy console install and really wasn't satisfied with the way the front of the console met the lower instrument panel trim, specifically the black plastic piece with the cut-outs for the floor vents. I ordered the Expy piece (which has a large cut-out for the ceter of the console), and the install looks much better. If you get the Expy piece, specify that it is with the console, the piece without the console is black and similar to the one in our trucks.

The part # for the medium graphite panel is F85Z-7804608-CAC and runs about $17.

BTW, how do you get the pictures to show up instead of the hyperlink???

I have a question I hope you can answer. I installed a expy console in my 99 scab and cant get it to sit on the floor like yours. I did cut the carpet under the brackets and it still leaves a half to one inch gap between the carpet and console. what is wrong with it?
thanks

You can't tell from the pic, but mine still sets about 1/4" above the carpet in the front. I guess the F150 and Expy floor pans are slightly different.

Make sure your brackets are bolted to the floor and not setting on the carpet. A little hint, place old scraps of carpet, backing material, rags, or whatever you can come up with under the carpet to raise the level up to the bottom of the console in the front. Also, make sure the brackets are locking into each other properly.

How did the console fit just sitting on the floor without the floor brackets installed?

I didn't try a dry run by setting it on the floor first. I may do that once the weather lets up. thanks.
