Question Retrieving Remote from Defrost Duct

My daughter dropped a small, thin remote control for the stereo down the center defroster duct on the dash of my ‘94 F150 Extended Cab truck. I can hear it rattling around in there, but I have no idea how to go about retrieving it. Do I have to tear the dash apart, or is there an easier way?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No easy way that I can think of honestly....

You might try:

Tape on a stick...

Good luck!

You also might try one of those things that have a flexible shaft and little fingers on the end for picking up things from tight places. Wish I knew what the heck they were called.

Try taping a two or three foot section of tubing, 3/8 or 1/2", to your shop vac hose. Seal it good at the shop vac hose with some electrical tape, and you'll have the suction you need to try and fish that remote back up...Good luck!
