LCD headliner display

I am interested in replacing my electronic compass and putting in a mileage indicator and a compass combination. Does anyone know if the Supercrew Lariat is wired for this application or it is a major ordeal. I also have a 2002 Expedition and this option is a standard feature.

I'm not sure what the Expy display looks like but, after looking at some of the wiring for this idea, I don't see why it wouldn't work if all of the components are BUILT IN to the display unit. I'm sure there is some snafu that I'm over looking but, from the looks of it, the overhead unit is totally self dependent with the exception of the sending unit for the thermo. Not sure if that helps much... I'd be interested in hearing if you jump on this and how it goes. Sounds like a cool mod.

You would have to know for certain that the wiring from the PCM that sends the fuel level and milage info is present or only the compass and temp will give data.

Yep... there's a huge snafu that I definately overlooked... not sure how to relay that data overhead... this project might be a beast with that alone...
