ash-tray
my ash-tray is fully operational but when you give it that pull to lock it into place it wants to come out on the left side like something that holds the left side in broke??????????????any body know how these things work?????????
Yes I know how they work , took mine out but its kind of difficult to explain in words. Best thing to do is to remove it, reach in and find the spring latches , depress them and it will slide out. Then check to see if everything is ok . Slide back seeing it's in the track and the latches all work. I'm soooo impressed at the engineering talent that designed the ash tray insert, take it out and you have another cup holder !! I don't use either.
So the ash-tray comes out, I tried once but since it wouldn't really move I didn't want to break something so I use it to hold my tokens for the turnpike (for those on the west coast, tokens are the extortion money paid to drive on the freeway “turnpike”)
Now that I have done it again here's how - pull the tray all the way out to the lock position. There is a latch on either side of the tray (actually part of the tray) - you may release the latches from the top by pushing a screwdriver back and down - or you can reach under and behind to pull down the latches with your fingers - as you pull forward on the tray.
