Blessing or not

Ok, I had my truck cleaned at one of those car wash places that wash, dry, and do the tires, etc...

First, they did an excellent job. The truck hasn't been that clean for a looooong time. Can't remember the name, near Washington road and Bobby Jones in Augusta Georgia.

Anyway, they used something like Armor All on the interior. Looks really good. But, it has started to attract lots of dust.

My question is, is this good?

1. The dust is in the truck anyway. So by being attracted to the dash makes it easy to wipe off.

2. The dash still looks shiney when the dust is off.

3. I'm not breathing the dust.

What do you think?

Well if the truck hasn't been clean in a long time you probably aren't used to seeing dust build up. It was always there.

Seriously though, I wouldn't worry about it. Get some vinyl protectant and give it a wipe once a week or so.

I'd stay away from protectants on the dash. They just end up getting an oily mess on your hands.

The new plastics used in cars/trucks dont crack like they did 30 years ago. Armor All is purely for appearance.

That and a bright sunny day creates additional glare.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you J-150. I don't use a protectant on my dash for exactly the same reasons however; deep6, I'd recommend using a plain cotton terry cloth to dust the dash while you have the armor all on there and just wipe it down when needed. It's not hurting anything or, honestly, in my opinion, helping anything thus, enjoy the asthetics of it all and when it wears off, reapply if you want. If not, just keep dusting occasionally. Sure works for me.

what I do is once a month get a washcloth and a very, very mild solution of PineSol or Mr Clean and wipe every non-upholstered surface in the truck.

Keeps it very dirt and dust free.

And leaves that pleasant pine scent...

I do about the same, minus any detergents. Just water. That keeps the 'new car' scent.

I do my dash basically like RockPick. About once a month I use a damp sponge with clean water to clean it up. I don't really like any of the dressing you can use. Main reason is alot of them attract dust and that just looks like crap.

Swiffer wipes, that's a good idea!
