Dashboard Cupholder/Spring Assembly

I've got a 2000 F-150 with that dashboard cupholder. I went to open it the other day and heard a metallic sound of something dropping behind the dash. Went to shut it and I'll be go to hell if the spring that pops it out when you push on it had come loose from however it is held and had fallen inside the dashpanel. Anyone know how these things go together or how to get the cupholder out to re-install that spring? If it ain't one thing it's another.
Thanks.............

Figured it out....nothing that a pry bar, torch and a 5 pound sledge couldn't fix. Found the clips that hold it in.....fortunately they didn't snap. The plastic and adhesive they use to hold it all together finally just gave out. Wound up attaching the spring steel to the back of the cupholder with a small screw......works like a charm.

Glad to hear that you made it a quick and easy fix.

Just in case the spring becomes sprung again. heheh... check your local junkyard. OODLES of Ford Trucks were made with the Dash cupholder (well, all of them were 97+) thus, finding a replacement shouldn't be hellish.
