Just do a forum search for "painting plastic" and you will find lots of good information/instructions.

If you know the color code, and are ready to go, you can order the paint mixed with flex from paintscratch.com.

The primer, paint and clear coat ( if you are going that route ) can all be ordered directly from them. They use SEM paints.

The other option is to go to a local PPG paint shop in your area, and they can mix it up for you. remember to have flex additive put into the paint when mixed, else it will chip and flake off.

Paintscratch.com had some nice directions on painting the parts, including how to sand the inital, using Pre paint prep solvents and in between coats for the painting.

Good luck.

Like SSCULLY mentioned, www.paintscratch.com is a great site. Don't expect to get out of there without dishing out the bucks though. $30 (+S&H) for a can of spray paint is pretty darn harsh although, I have bought a can.

I used regular ole spray paint (the kind that sticks to plastic) from your neighborhood walmart. I cleaned all the pieces I took out with alcohol to get rid of armor all and any dirt. Then I sprayed some primer on them and then did my color which was a low gloss black and it came out great. It took a few coats but they look great and havent chipped yet after a year and costed less than $10. Hope that helps.

Thumbs up

If you're wanting to do a factory style finish, then SEM is the way to go. I used it on my dash, and it came out out great. I tried the regular stuff that they sell at Wal-Mart and most auto parts stores, and it did not give an even finish. Like shiny in some spots and dull in others. The SEM gives a nice semigloss finish all over, and is usually less than ten bucks a can. You can find it in most trim shops, and upholstry supply places. You can also buy it online. Wipe the parts down with wax and grease remover, rough them up with a scotch brite pad, and spray thee to four light even coats. They have 52 different colors, so you should be able to find a color you like. If you're wanting to do the smooth gloss finish like the exterior of the trruck, that takes alot more work. That you have to sand off the texture, use a good sandable primer, then base and clear. You could also get a single stage paint, but they don't quite have the shine or look of a clear coated finish. Take your time, and you should have a nice looking dash.,,,,98
