I pushed the cupholder in on my 2001 XLT, but it never came back out. It is stuck in about 1/8" from the normal flush position. Any ideas on how to extract it w/o breaking something major??

 

Pull off the radio surround panel and then you can remove the bolts that hold the Heating & A/C control. After the A/C control is out, you will be able to see what is jammed. If it really is stuck, then this is the simplest way I see to access it.

 

Just like AJ mentioned, that is definately the best way to access the mechanical portion of that little cup holder. G'luck.
