Cool Interior Paint Ford Part #

I'm going to add a pillar gauge pod and need to paint it to match. After looking at a million spray cans at Home Depot, I decided to go back to the dealer and fight with em'. I say fight because last Saturday they told me that Ford hasn't made interior color spray paint in 5 years.

So, I spent a half-hour at the Ford dealer this AM. Finally, the 3rd parts guy at the counter found the information. I figure I'll post it here so someone else doesn't have to go through what I did.

The paint color is Dark Graphite for a 2001 SuperCrew.

Ford Part # : M4JZ-19M547-4253H
Description : Paint - Vinyl RE
List Price: $14.18 (USD)

It was a "special order" item. I'm supposed to get it in 5-10 business days... We'll see, I guess.

BTW, it's a 13oz. spray can.

I do not know about special order paint, but I got some Pacific Green (1998 F150) exterior touch up paint and it took a lot longer then the dealer said it would to get my paint, like 4 weeks. It is cool though, but by the time I got it, it was to cold to put it on, I did not not want ot put it on in really cold weather. I bought the truck used and the reason I got it was because there were a few really tiny chips on the hood from what appears to be driving it on a gravel road a lot. Just be prepared to wait, you may not have to though. Good Luck, glad you found it.

Cool

Just as a follow-up, I picked the interior paint up on Tuesday from my Ford dealer and it is the right color...

Now to install the pillar pod and gauges...
