I picked up my 2016 XLT Sport in the middle of July, with a Ford Tri-Fold Tonneau cover on it. My 2004 FX4 I had put some lights in, and they come in handy digging gear out of the back in the dark.
So, after looking at the cover, I liked the wide cross braces, and decided to try and make some lights, mostly from supplies I had. Some LED stick-on driving lights, Plexiglas and wiring.
I was able to get something I liked, but now trying to find the best circuit to attach them too. I traced out the license plate light circuit, but was hoping to find the tailgate LED. Anyone know the wire color of that hot leg? Really trying not to cut wires, as she is so new...
Thank you in advance for any information!

Here is what I came up with, Clear caulk not dried yet, but.
Thanks!
So far, no. I chose to use a 14 gauge wire, which is over-sized for sure, hoping that the repeated motion does not break it down. Also leaving slack, so the flex will be less.
