Projector Retrofit

So, uhh... I'm about to order this kit. Am I going to regret it?

How should I spec the options for it?

- So far, I'm thinking: 50W ballast / Flat top Apollo 2.0 shrouds / 100mm XSB Halos / 5500K

What cosmetic changes to the housing do you think would look good?

You won't regret it one bit. I'd go 35w tho. 50w can be a bit much when used for long periods of times driving down a long day highway. Straining on your eyes.
You are going to need to cut the reflector bowl with a3" hole saw to set these into your lights. Then epoxy to mount them.

FXR is a great choice. Very similar/competitive with RX350

35w is plenty of light with the right color

Ordered!

I wasn't paying attention and accidentally bought the 50W ballast option. The price was the same, so I didn't notice. I think I'm going to roll with it tho. Hopefully they're not too bright.

I'm gonna hack up these headlight assemblies and paint the reflectors satin black. I'm not sure how I want to handle the turn signal housing tho. I was thinking all black and leaving the reflector bowl chromed.

Same setup I have. The 50W burnt out the Stock harness plug on mine. I ended up going back to 35W. Not as bright but the 35W is still brighter and better than stock halogens by far.

That's why you run a relay harness.

Get your information straight before you post. This is not a PNP HID system..

Then it wasn't the 50w that killed your stock plug. It was a fault in the relay. Your stock plug is just a trigger for the relay.
Unless you had the canbus system which doesn't use a relay. In that case I would be wrong.

That's probably better information, but when I was going through the issue TRS suggested going to 35W. So that's what I ended up doing. I replaced the system with a new harness and D2S 35W morimoto ballasts.

You have a 2012 right? So that "should" be a H13 canbus system in which case ya the 50w would have killed it.
