Anyone have Rigid SAE D Series fog lights
Does anyone have these in action? I plan on picking up a new set off CL with mounts. If so, any night shots and/or opinions? Thanks!

I have the SAE fogs from Rigid and they're wonderful. Low wide light and they don't glare and bother oncoming traffic. I run them 100% of the time when my heads (OEM HIDs) are on and never have any complaints.
Here are some output shots: Halogen 9145 fogs only: Attachment 2593 Rigid SAE fogs only: Attachment 2594 OEM HIDs only: Attachment 2595 Rigid SAE and OEM HIDs: Attachment 2596 Here's an output shot against a wall...SAE fogs only...showing the low flat cutoff: Attachment 2597 |
Great shots. Thanks! Now if someone has the same type of pics for the Rigid Dually Spots, we're in business!

I have the sae/dot also. I like them alot, very bright, to bright for long drives in snowy weather. The amber covers/not running my vision x light cannons helped out alot on eye strain. Looking into a e2 20" combo now
|
How did you go from a 9145 plug to the Rigid plug?
|
Deutch connector adapter, we're like $20 so I didn't have to hack wires
|
Like napa or similar auto store?

You need a set of these:

Perfect! Ordering up. Thx

So dumb question, how the heck do you adjust them once they are installed? Looks to me it's a lot of trial and error bolting and unbolting them.

Depends on how you mount them, but yes if you use the Rigid mount it's a matter of eye balling it then unbolting them.
I went a bit more complicated and did this: Attachment 2476 Attachment 2477 Attachment 2478 Attachment 2479 This allowed me to use the factory adjustment screw to fine tune the alignment. It's a bit more work but it turned out really nice. It also allowed me to clock the light outward about 10 degrees and still aim them nicely. I bought a set of knockoff fog buckets online...my factory fogs are intact in a box on the shelf. |
That's a great idea. Too bad I bought the rigid adaptor already.
|
Yeah that sucks, but it'll still work. Be careful how you aim these as they're stupid bright. You're basically adding another set of finely tuned headlights to the mix. They will be brighter than your halogens, and will wash out their output.
They compliment my OEM HIDs on my '13 quite nicely. |
Good to know. I'm hoping to aim them just below the low beam halogen cutoff.
