Hi all, new to the forum and did my first project back in July; figured I should put up some photos.
I wanted to keep the price low and at $90.00 that was definitely in my budget. The install was fairly easy and the light this thing throws out is great for my needs. It definitely helps to light up the ditches and fields.
I did have to notch out two spots to get the bolts for the mounting brackets
Ran the wiring into the cab
Made a hole and wired up the switch
and.... LIGHT!!
Did need to also put some small notches in the "loafs" to the left and right of the light bar
Almost looks like it belongs there not bad for a first timer and doing a modification
I'll try to get some more photos of the light bar in action. I haven't had any complaints when I've used it. Did great lighting up the canyons on my 3am drive into Sturgis as well as early mornings into the goose fields...
Ya I had a couple mechanic buddies call me immediate and said "what the hell did you just do!!" and I let them know don't worry... no eccboot turbo to worry about from their urgency I'd assume not the best location.
Some ice still on the windshield; but lights up across the street pretty good. Will try to get some pictures driving in the field on the next goose trip.
Even if you don't have an Ecoboost you may have a transmission cooler there if you have a towing package. I really wanted to put one in that spot on my 2004 but was worried it may restrict too much air flow to the trans cooler. Not a big deal if you don't tow a lot. It does look good in that spot though.
