I am finally back after being without a truck for a year. I should have the new one in about a week. The old one was a 2001 and the new one is a 2010.

I want to get some darker lights all the way around. Headlight, foglight, taillights, and 3rd brake light.

I like the look of the taillights in the pic below if anyone knows the brand.




I also came across these. Anyone use them before and know the quality or fit??

For headlights you could get the 2011 2012 fx4, harley, raptor lights for the darker ones (halogen) . Or you could buy the 2013 FX4 headlights that are black and have stock HID projectors,, ooorrr you can just do a retrofit to your headlights you have now and paint the inside black.

For fog lights you really can't do much unless you like the cheap ebay lights that are projectors that have no output, or you could also retrofit them and paint the inside black.

For taillights you could tint your own with night shade, pop off the the lens and paint the trim black, or buy 2011+ FX4, raptor, harley taillights that already have black trim. I don't know what lights those are in the picture sorry. They Kinda look like the black tinted recon led taillights and tinted led 3rd brake light. The LEDs in those are sub par. Usually one led will go out at a time.

Also those headlights you linked are junk. They have horrible output and them being tinted makes them worse. Also those are halogen projectors and alot of people put HIDs in them which usually ruins them,

dont buy that fake crap online. poor fitment and poor output. and to most people it just looks cheap. do what was suggested above and get factory fx4/harley, raptor stuff that is already darker, or paint the inside of your own housings. if it were me though id buy the new fx4 headlights with projectors in them

 

Thanks for the input. I heard you could take apart and paint insides of 04-08, but wasn't sure about the 09 and up.

If I were to get the new 2013 headlights, are they direct bolt in and plug in? or are any modifications required??

 

13s will go right in. Depending on the bulb you choose you may have to purchase ballasts as well, but you'd have to do that even with aftermarket.

 

You can get adaptor harnesses so you can use the 13' hid headlight.

I believe theretrofitsource.com has the harness.
