Just bought a '97 F150 XLT. Never had one before, so this may be a real dumb question. There are lights on the back of the cab with red and white lenses. The reds light up when I hit the brakes, that I get, but I'm not sure about the clears. Are they back-up lights or cargo illumination lights? If they'e back-up lights, they don't come on when in reverse. If they're cargo lights, I don't know how to turn them on. Like I said, this is all new to me, and there wasn't any paperwork with the truck. I know, check the bulbs. But it's got this fibreglass tonneau cover that makes getting to them difficult, so I thought I'd just ask first.

If the bulb is not burnt out, it will come on with the interior lamps.

It is not like a Dodge where there is a separate switch for it ( at least in '95 it was ).

Owners manual lists this.

Finally got around to checking things out and found a loose wire. Fixed it and all's working well.

 

my lights come on when i open the door or roll the dial up ...on the dash there should be a **** or button for them ...
