Carr Light Bar Mount location
Carr Light Bar Mount location
Hey guys,
I just bought a Carr light bar to mount to the roof of my 2002 crew cab. I'm just curious to get some opinions on where you guys mounted/would mount one if you have/had it. I realize for the best light output in front of you, it's best to put it towards the front of the cab, but I like the look better on the back of the cab. Plus, I already have some lights mounted on my grill guard for anything RIGHT in front of me, so I figure it's alright if they're further back on the cab, lighting things up farther away.

Thanks guys!

Just got email confirmation the part has been delivered...Pretty busy during the week, but as long as the weather isn't too bad this weekend, I've got my weekend project lined up!

They make them, just not the kind that you can install without drilling into the roof.
To the OP, mount towards the back of the cab, otherwise you can pick up glare off your windshield.

Who's hungry for picture updates? These are the bar fresh out of the box, the instruction sheet (front and back) and the outside of the box with lights I'll be mounting. I know it was mentioned earlier about how special brackets are needed, and drilling is required, but according to this instruction sheet, that's not necessary. If you guys see something I'm missing, let me know.
But after scouring over the instructions, it mentions "L shaped brackets which are included, screw drivers and allen wrenches needed, couple other things, but makes no reference to any other bracket needing to be installed.

I was anxious to get lights on, and I'll be out of town for a long time pretty soon. I just wanted something i could mount with the option of a possible upgrade down the road. While my parents are using my truck they dont need a lotta watt-a. Lol. Figure these lights will be sufficient to give me a feel for the bar.
