I agree. TRS and a Projector Retrofit, mainly the FX-R is the only way to go. DOT has made it illegal to put HID bulbs in regular reflective housings. It just hasnt been enforced much yet.

Like i said. FX-R http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=141 Its the best bang for the buck. I've bought multiple projectors from them and have been converting 93-95 mazda rx7 headlights to projectors for over a year and I buy based on how much the person wants to spend. The Mini H1/ Mini D2S is a good light and easier to retrofit because its so damn small, the light output isnt bad. But for the best light output use the FX-R III. The IV isnt worth the extra money if you ask me.

Ok I'm really looking into the FX-R III since it has the best light output. With that kit, how do the lows/highs work since its only one bulb? IS there a bypass or something?

There is a shield inside the projector that creates the lowbeam cutoff. When you hit the high beam, an internal solenoid magnet flips the shield down to open up the entire projector for light passage.

FXR low beam:

FXR high beam:

Check out my signature link below. It's a how to for the FX-R projector. If you think you will not be able to do the FX-R route, go with the MH1. The MH1 should be easier to install, but i never installed one on a f150.

No, but its all fairly the same. Headlights split the same way, minor trimming or nodding of the housing/shroud is possibly involved. Painting the housings if that's a personal choice. My rx7 headlight buckets I did black because the reflective quality is no longer required for projectors and it looks better to me. I can send you pics of my rx7 headlights if you wanna give me your email. And then resealing the headlights. Its all the same really. They come pretty much plug and play from TRS. Order relays and connectors for whatever bulb your truck originally had.

Light output appears bluer than it really is due to being a cell phone pic. 5000k 55w.

Clean cutoff. These are the Mini H1 btw. About all that would fit without modifying the housing alot. The F150 headlights are A LOT bigger and can fit the FX-R a lot better.

Ignore the water spots.
