Flashers...
every now and again my flashers dont work but the lights are on and working or sometimes one side works and the other doesnt...any ideas what can cause it...thanks for any help...
Is it a case of the turn signal might not work but the brake lamps still do ?
- This is a very important one to make note of.
- If the brake lamps also do not work, is is all 3 or just the stop / turn lamps that do not work, the CHMSL still works ?
When this happens, what are the symptoms ( i.e. lamp is out, as in same as if you did not turn on the turn signal ).
When you have say a left turn signal failure ( if it is click MFS nothing happens ) what happens when you turn on the hazard lamps ?

Update:
Right side works perfectly fine
Left Side the tail light works fine when i turn on the blinker but the front does not blink...all lights around stop, reverse, turn signals in front are all replaced with silverstar...so what could cause only the front left not to blink but the light works...and the back is blinking fast...could it be a fuse?...thanks again for any help sorry been busy with work and havent gotten back on here...also what does CHMSL stand for?

The light works ?? Do you mean the parking lamps ?
- If so, this has nothing to do with the turn signals, different circuit, different element in the bulb.
If the left rear is blinking fast ( BTW : this is not working fine ) , and the front does not blink, this is a sign of a burned out bulb.
It could be the case of the bulb connector has an issue, and the bulb connector to the turn signal element in the bulb is not making contact.
Check the bulb install on the left, and if it looks OK, swap the front left and front right bulbs to see if the problem stays with the side or the bulb.
If it stays with the side, use a meter to check for power in the bulb connector for the turn signal circuit.
- brown wire = parking lamps
- black wire = ground
Other wire is the turn signal.
The meter or test light will cycle 0 and + VDC when the turn signals are operational.
If you do not have the turn signal power at the bulb connector, something got mashed at the bulb socket, and you will need to check further back the harness.
That is a good starting point.
CMHSL = Center High Mount Stop Lamp ( check the owners manual )

OK your turn to save me, the left turn signal is on solid when you turn the left turn signal on, right ?
- if it was right side, that would sound like Abbott and Costello..
I took it as the turn signal ( higher wattage element of the 2 in the bulb ) was off when you turned on the left turn signal, but if the parking lamps were on, that was the only element in the bulb that was on.

Same fuse for the turn signals on both sides, front and rear ( and a different fuse for the hazards ).
Also same output from the flasher for the left & right sides. MultiFunction Switch switches it from left to right. Different output for the hazard ( this is how the hazards work any time, where the turn signals only in the run position ).
Could be I read the last post wrong, or I do not have enough coffee in me this AM.

Try re-seating the bulb and / or putting a known good bulb in.
