Hid's in oem housing (no projectors) means excessive glare for oncoming traffic.

So these are considered an oem housing? I am a little confused. Projectors would be better? I tow a fifth wheel And dont want to blind oncoming traffic but I need better lighting at the same time. Thanks

Ok so how do I go about this? Obviously reliability is an issue and at the sametime I would like to have clearer lenses than the stock ones also a simple bolt in application would be nice. Would a summit or jeggs type place have something like this that would be suitable? Thanks...... After some more research I believe that I need would not be HID's but rather new clear housings and good bulbs such as silverstars or some other. Are the ebay "housings" garbage also?

The housings aren't too bad, I'd hit them with some extra silicon to make sure they don't leak though. But yes they're considered an oem design, and a retrofit for our trucks is a custom job, you can pay people to do it but it's not cheap. And yes a decent set of silverstars and clear lenses will give you some better visibillity without blinding other drivers.

Your help is much appreciated. Whereabouts would the silicone be applied? Looks like more searching is in order. Thanks

Just around the edges of the housing where the lens connects to the back of it, if you look at them you can see where they seal them at that their factory, but a little extra never hurts. Not that the ebay housings are bad, but once you get moisture in them its a real pain to get it out ha.
