2002 A/C question
I have my 2002 F150 Supercab at the Ford dealer right now for a problem with the air coming out of all of the vents no matter where I have the selector pointing. If I have it set to come out of the panel vents, some will come out of the defroster and out of the foot wells. So much comes out of the defroster vents that on humid days I will have condensation on the glass, and so much comes out of the foot wells that if I am wearing my sandals my feet will freeze!
Of course the dealer just called and he says that he can feel no air out of the defroster, and only a small amount out of the foot wells, which he says is normal, "to keep the floor from getting too hot". I don't believe that. I have never had a car that put air out of vents I hadn't told it to. I think he is giving me the run around, but just want to be sure that noone else gets air out of the floor vents all the time, before I go and ream him a new a**hole. haha.
Thanks for your input.

Well as it turns out, I had a vacuum (sp?) leak on the engine which was causing the air to come out of the defroster vents. But some, although not as much, still comes out of the floor vents. They showed me another 2002 Supercab that does the same thing, so they say this is normal. Like I said before, I've owned many other cars, including a Hyundai (don't laugh) and a 1984 Lincoln Town Car that had 350,000 miles on it, and neither of these nor any of the other cars I've owned put air out of vents it wasn't supposed to. Especially when the excuse the service advisor gives me is its to keep the floor cool because it gets very hot.
But just to be sure, I'd love to know if anyone else's truck does this too.
Thanks for your time!
By the way, the dealer is Greenway Ford in Orlando. Oh, and I just got my survey from Ford about my purchase experience. I believe I have much to fill out...LOL
