Question Heater control problem

The heater controls in my truck work fine for defroster and panel. But now when I select the floor option, nothing happens. It will continue to blow plenty of hot air out on the defrost or panel mode. With winter approaching, I'd really like to get this solved.

Any help that you can offer or suggest will be appreciated. Where should I start?

Thank you!

hey big truck, I don't have the answer to your problem, but I'm having the same exact issue and was wondering if you fixed it - if you have, please bounce back with a cure -

thx, kevin

Sounds like your blend door is stuck in one position. What year is your truck/do you have the electronic climate control? If you have the electronic climate control there is a trouble shooting procedure which may give you a code.

Press FLOOR and OFF at the same time, followed by AUTOMATIC within 2 seconds. The system will display any codes, or 888 if there are no codes to display.

You'll probably see 024 or 022-Blend Door Short, or 031 or 025-Blend Door Failure. Exit with the blue button to erase the codes or DEFROST to save them.

thanks flafonman, 1997 lariot w/out climate control - again, problem is no heat on the floor, only comes out on defrost. some other threads suggest a problem with a rod popping off behind the vent door, so i'll look at that. i've already bought the blend door motor, but hate to go through all that work if that's not the problem.

thx, kevin
