fan stopped working

Everything working fine then fan stopped working when I started my car today. Could not find any blown fuses under dash or in engine bay. All other accessories seem to work.

Any ideas? Loose wire? Bad rheostat? I don't mind turning a few screws but I have nightmares about tearing the dash apart.

Any suggestions?

thanks

BTW, the compressor works fine-i can feel cold in the vents, just no air moving.

I just checked with a voltmeter; I'm getting 12 volts at the connectors. I guess it's a bad blower motor.

How do I remove it? I can't get the bolts in the back.

thanks

Ford switches the ground side so if you have power on both sides of the terminal on the harness going to the blower motor the flow of power is thru the resistor block and on to the blower switch for ground.

I just changed the blower motor. Got a new one from Advance auto parts for $38 with a lifetime warranty. Pretty good since Ford wanted $97 with a 12 month warranty.

Everything works great. I bought a Haynes manual to guide me. Taking out the 2 last screws in the back was a real pain in the ***.
