2017 F150 AC problem.

My fiancé's 2017 F150 with the 5.0 lost it's AC when we were coming back from vacation. Truck only has 33,000 miles on it. It looks like there was black rubbery stuff coming out of the end of the clutch and sprayed on nearby components.

Has anyone had an AC failure on these newer F150's? Since it has the new style freon in it, none of the local repair shops will touch it because they don't have the equipment to service it.

Truck is out of warranty.

Try these people:

They mention R1234yf. You could always take it to the dealer.

The dealer is probably going to be our only option. We have a call in to our local dealer for a price quote. We have already got a price from the dealer the truck was bought at and we are looking at around $1,300 to get it fixed from them.

I called Ford corporate to see about a goodwill warranty due to the low mileage on the truck and the lady said she will be calling our local dealer to talk to them and will get back to me. She said hopefully they can do something for us. We shall see.

Your compressor might not be toast. It might be the clutch pack, which a fairly easy fix. I've had this happen to me before.

However it's a 50/50 shot, you don't know until you tear into it.
