Finicky ac

I have a 2007 f150 5.4v flex fuel with 190k miles. For some reason my ac will turn in randomly with or without hitting a bump. Has anyone else dellt with this before or know what the problem is by chance? Thanks

It might be the blend door actuator.

Please define "turn in randomly" and provide more details.

I will be driving without the ac/ heater on and the blower will turn on out of no where. Once it turns on I'll turn the switch on and turn it back to off and it will shut off. It doesnt happen all the time maybe once or twice a month

Automatic or manual climate control? Single or dual zone?

Check the blower motor resistor, Those have a bad habit of going bad and they're easy to change out. Does these happen at all blower speeds or just some of them?

Usually when the resistor fails, you will only have the highest fan speed, in all other positions the fan will not run.

For the reason glc noted, that would be impossible.

Let's go back to this statement: "I will be driving without the ac/ heater on and the blower will turn on out of no where." Does that mean that you are driving with the climate mode control switch set to the OFF position, a rather odd choice, I might say? If so, then when "Once it turns on I'll turn the switch on and turn it back to off and it will shut off.", to me that implies that there is an intermittent fault within the climate control panel (EMTC) that is causing activation of the blower motor relay when the switch is set to OFF. When the blower motor does come on, does it come on to the speed that corresponds to the current setting of the blower speed control switch or something else?

There have been several posters on here that found that when they touched the resister module that the fan would stop or start so the resister have loose connections internally or loose connection to their wiring connector. OP didn't say if he tried using the high fan speed or not. That was going to be my next question but I wanted to see what he said first.

Read post #6. The OP said that it's a manually controlled system. No climate control.

You might want to read up on this generation of climate control, both automatic and manual.... Do you know what "EMTC" means?
