a/c recharge

a/c recharge

2011 f150 3.5l ecoboost. tried to recharge using a/c pro and gauge reads in the red. any thoughts on what the problem might be?

You need a gauge set with both high and low side gauges and the appropriate data. Gauge probably reads in the red because it's charged and the compressor is not running. Take it to a pro.

compressor is running. really looking for ideas to do the repair myself if possible. labor costs can run too high when trying to diagnose prior to doing the actual repair.

Labor costs will be likely higher if you mess something up.

Like glc said, take it to a pro.

You will be money ahead by taking it to a pro. Tried to save a few bucks on my 98 by doing the same thing you are and it ended up costing me way more in the long run.
