a/c runs constantly

I have an 01 screw with the 4.6 and I've looked all over but can't find anything. Starting earlier this summer my a/c compressor started running constantly in all seeting except panel and off. I recently swapped out the vent selector switch and now the only settings it doen't run in is panel, floor, and off. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to fix it they would be much appreciated.

That's what it's supposed to do, see your owner's manual.

Are you saying that the compressor runs continuously and doesn't cycle on and off? That's not normal.

Yes it runs constantly and puts out cold air in all positions except panel, floor, and off. It does not cycle like it should in settings like defrost.

Like I said, read the owner's manual.

It does not cycle like it should in settings like defrost.
Compressor clutch cycling is a function of the LOAD on the system. It is perfectly normal for the compressor to operate at 100% duty cycle under when conditions warrant.

You will need to do a much better job of describing what is going on and when it happens in order to communicate what might (or not) be a valid concern.

According to my owner's manual, my air conditioning is only supposed to run in max a/c, a/c, and panel/floor. In defrost, and defrost/floor it is only supposed to cycle every so often to help remove moisture fromt he air. My air conditioning runs full time in ALL settings except panel, floor, and off. It is not supposed to run constantly, unless i've selected either max a/c, a/c, or panel/floor.

That is incorrect, go read it again. If you need the latest version of the manual, follow the link in my signature below.

Hint: It' on page 59, a little more than halfway down the page.
