AC Pulley Siezed

On X-mas day my serpentine belt siezed. I found that the AC Pulley was the culprit. I read that i could get a belt and tensioner for a non AC truck. But this does not work so well on the 5.4 engine as the tesioner hit the AC Compressor Pulley. So the next step was to pull the clutch plate, pulley and coil off thinking that would give me enough clearence, this went ok other then i bent the snap ring getting it off. the new tensioner almost cleared the compressor shaft but not quite. Next plan was to remove the compressor but everything is so coreded i removed one mounting bolt but rounded out the second one, so thinking this might not be the best option.

So now thinking the the best bet is to purchase a new pulley. is it possible to just replace the pulley and leave the coil and clutch plate off and let the pulley act as an idler as the system has not worked for a long time anyway.

Any advice would be greatley appreciated
Thank you

Yes, you can replace the pulley only. You will need that snap ring, though.

FYI

Went to Napa and had to purchase the entire clutch assembley for $180 CAD. I only installed the coil and pulley for now as it was -18 C so left the clutch plate off for now and left the connector unplugged so the pulley will just free wheel. I cleaned the shaft with emery cloth and used some moovit on the inner race and shaft and it slid right on. The clutch came with all mounting hardware including the snap ring.

I noticed a hair line crack in the tensioner so pick up a new one. Put it all back toghether and back on the road agian.

thank you for the help.
