heator core leak 3rd year in a row

this is the 3rd year in a row I will have to be replacing my heater core in my 1997 f150. why does this continue to happen every November/December? the original lasted almost 14 years. and this last one I put in was a motorcraft. there has to be another problem.

Electrolysis? Is the trucks radiator doing okay?

I think it has to do with how the truck is grounded?

If you get a voltmeter and with the truck running, if you put hook up the neg to the rad and put the pos in the coolant, you will actually see a small amount of voltage.. If it's large enough, I think that's when it starts to eat the rad??

It's been a long time, but I recall reading about this on here before.. But, it was a long time ago..

Good luck!

Mitch
