AC clutch fell off

Gmorning,
Got a 97 F150 w over 370k miles. Great work truck, love it.
A couple of weeks ago AC compressor clutch just fell off.
Does anyone have suggestion how to determine if dryer canister needs replacing or if system needs flushing. Shop wants a grand to repair . If I can just replace compressor with clutch it would save some dough.

Just replace the clutch hub, bolt, and shim(s) if you're dealing with a simple lost hub issue. It happens.

Thanx projectSHO89,
That's logical.
So should I jump the compressor straight off the
battery to make sure its working, or is that not a good
thing to do?
again thanx for the .

No, that won't do any good if the clutch hub is gone.

Okay so I found the hub in the fender well. So I got a hub screw and washer of another compressor and put my hub back on.
Shazam, good cold air again.
Nice and easy fix.
TY
