R-12 to R-134a?

Well, dad and i have a 91 f-150 body on a 90 f-250 frame due to body issues with the old body. Anyway, we had transfered the old r-12 system over to the f-250 frame. It all bolted on, sadly it didn't blow cold. (both were 351's) Anyway, the compressor has been squealing for awhile now, and tonight it finally locked up and twisted the front off of the compressor. We are kind of in need to replace it or delete it anyway. What would be the best option? find a totalled f-150/250 with a good r-134a system and swap, compressors, condensers, and any other parts of the system.

In my opinion: Yes. I cant elaborate at this moment because of time. I'll try to get back to you in the short future, but really just replace the system.
