Compressor only turns on with paper clip!!!!!!! HELP

Compressor only turns on with paper clip!!!!!!! HELP

have a 01 ford f-150 supercrew king ranch 2wd 5.4 engine

A/C compressor wont turn on. Put 3 bottles of coolant still wont turn on put a paper clip where relay is located and compressor turns on but that just having in on directlyyyy ones i remove paper clip compressors turns off ....

can any one help want to try to fix before taking it to a shop!!!


can it be my compressors is bad? or my ac controls are not working?

any help!!!!!!

The relay is controlled by the PCM which is signaled by, among other things, the low pressure cycling switch. Try jumpering that switch and see if the relay energizes properly.

Where is the low pressure cycling switch located?

And when you say jumpering do youmean do the same exact thing i did with relay with paper clip?
Correct me if im wrong not familiar with HVAC!!!!!!

Yes that is what he menas unplug the switch and jumper the connector. If I recal the switch on your truck will be on the passngerside close to the A/C dryer maybe even on the dryer.

Ok i think i found its. Color red in the inside ones i disconnect right?
So i jumpered it and nothing happens whats next?

I have two connector on is black with red inside roundish the other is black with yellowish inside square the round one with the red inside was connected the otherr with yellowish inside was just hangin their have no idea where it goes connected doea not seem right just laying their any suggestionsss
