Blower motor humms loudly

2009 F 150 First I have read all day on blowers and eliminated the relay switch. All speeds work fine and blows fine hot and cold. The problem is out of nowhere I got a loud humming noise. It gets louder as I go from 1,2,3, and max. It sounds like it is coming from the blower. It is not a squeal or chirp so probably not a bearing or a flapping ticking noise so probably not a loose piece of whatever hitting the cage. Heck it may not be the blower but if not than what? Maybe someone out there has a clue. I HATE to start pulling parts and than check back here and have someone know my problem and it was not the blower. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Pull the blower motor and inspect it.

Greg,

Did you figure this out? I was just on my way home from work and my fan started making a BUNCH of noise. It was all of the sudden like something got inside it. I don't have a maintenance manual for this truck yet, so I'm not sure where to start.

Did you pull yours?

Thanks

Same advice. Pull the blower motor and inspect it. See if foreign material got sucked in.

Yeah, I can probably pull it this weekend. Is it a fairly straight forward procedure? I assume I can get to everything from the passenger side floorboard area with the glovebox lowered/removed. Is this true?

Thanks for the help.
