AC Problem

My trucks AC is very sporadic.Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work.Everytime you turn the AC on the clutch always kicks in on the compressor.I just replaced the AC/heat temp control switch, and it didn't help it. Some times it works great, others it won't work at all,and sometimes it will blow cold air for a few seconds and then will switch to very hot air for a few seconds, and then back to cold.Any idea on what could be causeing this? I really hate to take it to the dealership to have it fixed, but may have to,im not too good in this department. Its a 2001 F150.Bought it back in Feburary, didn't even think to try the AC out as it was cold out.

Thats what I was afraid of.Kinda was hopeing it was gonna be the actuator.I did some searching and watched the video on the heater treater, and how to cut your way into the blend door with a dremel tool.It makes it look pretty easy.Gonna start on it tomorrow.Any way in paticular you can tell if the actuator is bad or if the blend door is bad?
