2001 F-150 blower motor relay location?
I've read a ton of posts on here and I think I have eliminated most of the more common solutions. My truck is a 2001 F-150 SuperCrew 5.4L with manual climate control.
My AC/Heater blower quit working on ANY speed, but the compressor is working fine, as evidenced by the cold air coming from the registers when I am at highway speed- not cool air, but COLD, refrigerated air.
I checked the fuses in the fuse box and they are all ok. Still nothing, so I replaced the easiest thing to get to- the blower motor resistor. The old resistor had signs of oxidation and replacement was not a bad thing, but it did not solve my problem.
The next day, I was driving down the road and suddenly the fan started blowing fine- for about 30 miles... then it started sounding like it was only receiving intermittent power, then quit altogether. All fuses and connections still ok. It coming on like it did leads me to think that the motor itself is ok.
Back to the forums and the Haynes manual. The likely culprit seems to be the blower motor relay. My owner's manual does not mention it at all, and the Haynes manual is very vague about the location of this relay. Several posts on here say it is under the dash on the '01 F-150, to the right of the steering column, but I cannot locate it. Does anyone know EXACTLY where this relay is located, and how to access it for replacement? Is access by removal of the climate control module on the dash?
Many thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks for the effort, but mine just isn't like that at all. I even printed the picture and took it out to my truck to make sure I was looking at it right... it just is not there.
Thanks again

Try turning your hazard lights on and look under the dash. Try and find the clicking, it'll be the hazard/turn signal relay making the noise and the blower motor relay will be right next to it.
My truck has an aftermarket keyless entry and remote start so that blackbox and a few of the wires shouldn't be there. Taking off the panel where your knees are helped me find it also.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond- my computer went haywire and had to get it fixed... lol
Yeah, the relay was bad and replaced it and everything was fine for a couple days- but then the blower motor itself went out... had to replace it also...
Oh well... plenty of cold air now!
Thanks for your interest and your help :-)
