Unhappy evaporator suction line spring lock size ?

2001 supercrew 4wd 5.4L

The compressor was cake, The orifice tube was easy.

My progress is halted

I'm in the fight of my life trying to relase the evaporator suction line spring lock.

I must be using the wrong size spring lock tool (7/8"). The opening is toward the firewall and the tool seems to go in but no release like fuel lines I've done in the past.

If the tool slides in there, the spring is being released.

However, the connections often get some corrosion in there and glue the two pipes together. I find that a couple of shots of PB Blaster along with a bit of rotation of the pipe will free them up most of the time.
