Getting my heater core replaced this weekend. I would do it myself but I just dont have the time to get it done between school/work. Im not too excited about this because in the 5 years that I've been having my truck, it's only been in the shop 1 time (for the transmission). But...I found a guy that will change it for 1/3 the price that every other shop in town wants.
Im wondering if I should go ahead and get the blend door changed while he's got the whole thing apart. I was pricing it on Oreilly's website, is it normally the Actuator that goes out? I don't want to spend all this money and have the other part go out shortly after.
Thanks

well u could have it replaced while there is access or you can wait till something happens and go to heater treater.com and go through the glovebox to replace the blend door yourself for about $129 or so depending what you have for a vehicle
Since you are getting a deal, go ahead and replace the blend door and motor. The parts are not that expensive and easy to install while the dash is off and plenum open. My door was brittle and cracked at the bottom. Replaced the motor just because I was already in there.
