How to change accumulator?

Hello everyone i have a quick question on how to change out the accumulator on a 2005 scab. The original accumulator received a hole from rubbing and i lost the charge. One side has a bolt and O ring and the other goes straight into the evap and is the piping in question. Any infromation will help, thanks a lot guys.

not many around here do there own A/C repairs. I'd just get the Chilton or Hayes book and follow the instructions. Then I'd recharge it. Cant be that hard.

Remove the PCM Module, then the battery and battery tray. Remove the PCM bracket. Disconnect the Inlet/Outlet fitting nuts on the Accumulator. Discard the o-rings. Installation is reverse. Inlet is 8Nm(71 lb-in), Outlet is 9Nm (80 lb-in). I would check the evaporator core orifice for any debris/metal. If you find any metal, your compressor is shot. I have to do my compressor, accumulator, and core orifice next week, so I'll try to take some pics for a how-to.

Hope this helps!

Remember: Beer always makes this a much calmer process...

I wish it was that easy. I do commercial AC for a living so I hate to do but I guess I'll end up taking it to an AC shop.

That is a spring lock fitting at the evaporator.
The Spring Lock removal tools can be rented or purchased at most any quality auto parts store.
