Post Proper time to turn on a/c

When is the correct time to turn on the a/c--at idle or while in motion? I would think turning it on at idle would be less stressful for the system, but I have heard otherwise.

I turn mine on when ever I need it or anything above 85 degrees otherwise I'll have both windows down and the rear slider open.

Cool

The clutch is designed to engage at all rpms while you are driving, so don't worry when you turn it on. Higher rpms do cause more wear during engagement, but negligible and beyond control.

It really makes no difference. Turn it on when you need it. Truth is, the compressor will cycle off and on at all rpms anyway.
