Air not cold enough!!!

Hey guys, just finished air system on my 99' supercab 5.4l. Flushed system, new dryer, new compressor, new orifice tube. Took all freon that it called for and everything seemed to be going fine but 78 degrees is all I can get on the center vents. Clutch fan is pulling good air through. Any ideas??

What are the pressures?

Did you pull a vacuum first?

Did pull a vaccum, got it down to 20 and held it for an hour before adding freon. Low side pressure was 40 when we put the last can in and the high side ran around 150.

High side pressure seems low to me. Did you use cans or a jug? May need to add more to get a full charge. Suction line should sweat, pressure line HOT to touch.

We used cans. It called for 33ozs and we used 3 12oz cans. Mind you, I have never done this before so a friend brought his gauges over. Do you think I should try one more can and see if it would take it?

well, got a new question. after charging the system i was bolting the primary fuse panel and harness junction back to the firewall (i removed to gain access to replace dryer) and the dryer connection to the evaporator core blew off and sprayed me pretty good. Guess I didnt push hard enough to lock the spring lock . I know i will need to pull a good vaccum and recharge but my question is how much oil should i add if any?
