In the last 3 or 4 weeks twice I have turned on the a/c and nothing. 1st time no sounds at all 2nd time sounded like something was trying to start with aclick or 2. Both times I turned it off for about 30 seconds and turned back on. Worked just fine . Something about to happen?

 

Was the sound coming from inside the cab, or outside the cab.
Did the blower motor run?

 

First time blower was running w/hot air and after a few secs it stopped running.

2nd time it wasn't running and that time the noises were sounding like they were inside the cab.

It ran perfect again this morning.

 

Look at replacing the clutch assembly. You can get them for about $145 at Napa.
