1998 F150 Compressor cycles on & off after evaporator & accumulator replacement
SubscribeI checked areas everyone suggested but in the end it was a mistake of my own that caused the problem. When I evacuated the system I obviously must have done something incorrectly. Still not sure how that happened. Maybe I had a valve closed??
The problem was a torn o-ring on the high side connection at the new evaporator inlet. This caused a leak at higher pressures. The system couldn't build enough pressure because it was slowly leaking out. I discovered the leak once the system sat idle for a period of time. A couple of new o-rings and some additional practice at reassembly of the components, another correct evacuation and I am now happy to report the AC now works great. Runs a cool 43deg. I am an AC virgin so guess I learned a lesson.
I just want to thank everyone who helped with suggestions,They really helped a lot!
