How to clean degas bottle

Anyone have tips on how you get crud out of degas? The buildup is so bad that the cap has to be removed to determine coolant level!

I cleaned the tank in my Conturd this summer.

I filled it up with a solution consisting mostly of 409 and hot water and let it soak. I then sprayed it out with the garden hose and got most of the crud out of it.
