EATC Squeeling/Squeaking
EATC Squeeling/Squeaking
2005 Lariat...
I've noticed a squeaking somewhere around the glovebox whenever I have the EATC turned on. I first noticed the sound about a week and a half to two weeks ago, and it's progressively gotten worse. Initially it was intermittent and fairly quiet, but it's now to the point that I can hear it over the radio and it never stops unless I turn off the heat.
Maybe I haven't understood the other threads I've read about this, but this sound always occurs when the EATC is turned on. It doesn't matter where the air is blowing (feet, face, defrost, any combination), if the AC is on or not, if it's drawing in fresh air or recirculating cabin air, if I set it to 60 degrees or 90 degrees or anywhere in between, or if I turn the fan all the way up or all the way down. Does anyone have any ideas? Does this sound like the blend door actuator? I can take it to the dealer and have them fix it under warranty, but I have a $100 deductable, so if I can fix it for less than that, I might as well do it myself. If the parts alone are going to cost more than $100, or if it's a huge pain to fix (like if I have to remove the dash), I'll just take it in. Let me know if this sounds familiar, or if anyone has any ideas.

The problem was the blend motor. I had it replaced at the dealer today. It would have cost $270 for parts and labor if not for the warranty. They said they were able to do it without removing the dash.
